In fact, according to the
Index of Economic Freedom, published by the Heritage Foundation and the
Wall Street Journal, the United States -- barely -- ranks ninth among the 179 countries surveyed. The top six in order are Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, and Canada -- we sit between Denmark and Bahrain. And we are not "free", we are "mostly free."
